Staying in Cabras, Sardinia: a room in the heart of the Sinis Peninsula
Six weeks of culture on the Sinis Peninsula — and Sa Pintadera is right in the middle of it
If you’re planning a trip to western Sardinia this summer, the timing couldn’t be better. From June 19 to August 8, L’Estate di Mont’e Prama 2026 — the cultural programme promoted by the Fondazione Mont’e Prama — brings archaeology, cinema, literature and live music to the ancient sites of the Sinis Peninsula.
Sa Pintadera is located in the centre of Cabras, less than 300 metres from the Museo Civico Giovanni Marongiu and the new Parco del Museo where most events take place.

What’s on
June 19–21 — ArcheoBeer Fest, San Salvatore di Sinis An unlikely but brilliant combination: the archaeology of fermented drinks meets craft beer, with morning lectures, guided tastings and evening concerts from Chris Eckman and blues musician Jontavious Willis. The Mont’e Prama Link shuttle service connecting all the sites of the Sinis Archaeological Park also restarts during this period.
June 24–29 — Festival Internazionale dell’Archeologia, Cabras The scientific centrepiece of the programme. A preview on June 24 at the church of San Leonardo in Santu Lussurgiu, then everything moves to the new Parco del Museo Marongiu in Cabras. Leading scholars including historian Franco Cardini and archaeologist Louis Godart take the stage, with music from Elena Ledda and Mauro Palmas and a closing event at the archaeological site of Tharros.
From June 26 — Festival Letterario dell’Archeologia Essays, narrative and conversations around the ancient world.
June 30–July 5 — Archeofilm Festival and Sardegna Archeofilm Festival Open-air screenings at the Sinis sites.
July–August 8 — Concerts at Tharros The season closes with a major music programme at the archaeological area of Tharros: Carmen Consoli, Riccardo Cocciante, Cristiano De André, Stefano Bollani and I Nomadi — against a backdrop of Phoenician ruins and open sea.
